#1: Keep your IT hardware under warranty and plan for a 3 to 5 year lifecycle
- Don’t expect to keep your workstations for more than five years. Yes, some relationships are built to last but “breaking up” with your hardware is an inevitable process.
- Hardware in over five years of past usage equates with unwanted drama related to incompatible OS (operating system), outdated support (no longer recognized by vendors), or availability of security patches. Don’t worry, you can always find someone to be there to pick up the pieces (figuratively speaking, unless you smash it to bits in a fit of uncontrollable rage).
